AI Is a Tool, Not the Talent

Everyone remain calm. We’re going to talk about AI.

With our place in the digital space as a social media and branding agency, it would be a little strange not to. It’s everywhere. It’s not going anywhere, so the conversation isn’t really about avoiding it, it’s about understanding what role it should actually play.

Creativity is inherently human.

And that should be a comfort!!

If you’ve spent any amount of time in a creative field, you’ve probably had the thought at some point. The fear that maybe this is the thing that replaces you. That suddenly anyone with a WiFi connection can be a brand designer.

But the more time you spend around these tools, the more obvious it is that this is not the case. 

AI can generate options, but it can’t decide what story a brand should tell or what actually makes someone pause while scrolling. The creative space is still about understanding people and getting people to understand you. 

At Moody Creative Media, AI is something we use intentionally, but the tool is never the strategy. Our process always begins with questions that AI just doesn’t have the answers to. What story should this brand be telling? What does their audience actually care about? Sure, AI can help us explore creative directions faster, but it lacks any real understanding of tiny details and nuances that make things click. Without strategy, AI just makes more content, and marketing already has plenty of noise.

AI is not removing creativity from marketing.

We’d actually argue that it’s making creativity and the human-touch even more valuable. When the production side of things is easier, the ability to stand out relies on people with real ideas, and a good story to tell. 

So, we’re not here to tell you to stop using AI. We just want you to know that having access to the tools doesn’t mean much on its own, and it’s never been easier to blend in.
